INTRO: Gelacell, manufactured by Gelatex Technologies, is a unique, 3D microfibrous scaffold designed for advanced in vitro 3D cell culture and tissue engineering applications. DESCRIPTION: Specially designed 12-well plate scaffold “inserts” with aligned fibers made from pharmaceutical grade poly-L-lactide (PLLA) offer culture conditions for short-to-medium durations. Perfectly tailored for cultivation of complex systems like cell microenvironments, tissue regeneration, and organoids. The optimized design ensures thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability, while also providing substantial swelling capabilities and porosity, allowing efficient nutrient diffusion and thereby preventing cellular waste build up. The aligned fibers in the scaffold provide a structured pathway for cell orientation and growth (particularly beneficial for specialized cell cultures requiring directional tissue development).

INTRO: Gelacell, manufactured by Gelatex Technologies, is a unique, 3D microfibrous scaffold specifically engineered for advanced in vitro 3D cell culture and tissue engineering applications. DESCRIPTION: This variant of Gelacell is specially designed for medium-to-long term cell culture durations. Scaffolds made from pharmaceutical grade poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) are fixed to cell crowns in a 6-well plate. The cell crowns act as Boyden chambers for facilitating studies related to air-liquid interface culture, co-culture, complex tissue models, etc. Gelacell also makes a robust platform for drug screening and other cell culture investigations. The optimized design ensures thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability, while also providing substantial swelling capabilities and porosity, allowing efficient nutrient diffusion and thereby preventing cellular waste build up.
